Park Appreciation Day

Caring, connecting and community - it starts in parks!

Battle Ground Parks and Recreation is celebrating National Volunteer Month by hosting a Park Appreciation Day work party at two local parks on Saturday, April 20.

City staff maintain the parks throughout the year but Park Appreciation Day is a way for the community to give back to their local parks by helping make sure Battle Ground stays green and beautiful.

Tasks might include picking up litter, raking and weeding flower beds, cleaning playground equipment or spreading bark and playground chips.

Volunteers are invited to help clean up at two designated parks, Central Park and the Community Center at Fairgrounds Park, from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday April 20.

Dress for weather, rain or shine, and bring work gloves and hand tools such as shovels, rakes and hoes if you have them.
