Why a Warrant is Issued

If you miss your scheduled court date on a criminal matter, a warrant will be issued for your arrest.  Depending on the charge, a suspension may also be issued on your driver's license.

How to Cancel a Warrant

Failure to Appear (FTA) Warrant cancellations may be requested through the Battle Ground Municipal Court office during business hours from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday. 

Warrants cannot be cancelled on Thursdays, or on a day when court is in session.  (Court days are adjusted from Thursdays if a holiday occurs on the same day). 

FTA Warrant Cancellation Requests:  

• The defendant must pay a warrant cancellation fee of $50.00 (per warrant). 
• The warrant cancellation fee must be paid by cash or with credit card.
• The requestor will be required to provide current phone number(s) and mailing address to the court clerk at the time of the request, which will be updated in the Justice Information System (JIS).
• Once approved, the court participant will be required to sign a Court Hearing Notice, that will include their next scheduled court appearance date.
