2025 Park Repairs

This is an annual project that aims to replace aging playground equipment and make repairs to City parks in accordance with the City's Parks, Recreation and Open Space Plan.

In 2025, the City will be replacing the playground equipment at Cresap and Dublin Parks and install new play features at Kiwanis Park.

Schedule

The City anticipates the new playground structures will be installed during the third quarter of 2025.

Funding

The approved 2025 budget included $200,000 allocated for park repairs, within the City's General Fund.

Project Location(s)

Cresap Park

The new playground equipment at Cresap Park will feature two main structures designed for children aged 5-12 and 2-5, respectively.

The larger structure will include three separate slides, multiple climbing modules including ring climbers, step climbers and stairs, as well as overhead tree climbing rings for your young adventurers.  They can test their balance on the wave balance beam and their skills on the space arch climber, before taking a spin on the whirly seats.

The smaller structure will include an enclosed tube climber providing hole grips, great for the little explorers.  Kids can make their way down the double rumble roll slide, and work on their balance with the tot turtles and balance beam located around the outside of the play structure.

Kiwanis Park

In March 2024 the Public Works Operations crew removed the climbing rock at Kiwanis Park after it had suffered irreparable damage and was no longer fit for use.  The Parks and Community Engagement Advisory Board (PACE) has selected two new climbing structures in its place:

Volcano Climber

The Volcano Climber stands eight feet (8') tall, offering a fun and challenging climbing experience for children 5-12 years old.  It features cave-like viewing portals for increased visibility and side ladders that lead to a lookout platform at the top.

The PACE Board was inspired by our beautiful Mount Saint Helens skyline when selecting this addition for the park.

Wiggle Climber

The Vertical Wiggle Climber is a fun and challenging climbing activity rated for children 5-12 years old.  Standing eight feet (8') tall, the Wiggle Climber features plastic climbing discs that are tethered to the frame, allowing the discs to "wiggle" as children climb up or down.

Its unique design is intended to enhance a child's strength and agility and is sure to offer an endless number of imaginative play opportunities.
