When do I need to file a traffic accident report?
If you are involved in a vehicle accident and the police investigate the incident, you do not need to complete a traffic accident report. If you are involved in a traffic accident and the police do not investigate, and the damage is $700 or more to either vehicle or if there are ANY injuries, you must complete a Washington State Vehicle Collision Report. These forms are located to the right of the outside front door of the police department, 507 SW 1st Street, in a box labeled "COLLISION REPORTS".
