The Patriot Guard Riders Organization, CMAC (Community Military Appreciation Committee for Clark County) and AMVETS (American Veterans) Post #16 of Woodland, WA will be conducting a “Never To Be Forgotten” ceremony from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on January 5, 2022 at the Battle Ground Veterans Memorial to honor US Army Corporal Jeremiah J. Johnson and his family.
Corporal Johnson was critically injured on December 26 of 2006 while serving near Baghdad, Iraq, and succumbed to his injuries on January 5, 2007. The ceremony provides a public remembrance on the anniversary of his death to assure that he and his family will never be forgotten.
Jeremiah was raised in the Battle Ground/Brush Prairie area and attended Prairie High School; his memory is honored by the Battle Ground community with an engraving of his name on the wall of the Veteran’s Memorial.
As part of the “Never To Be Forgotten” ceremony, organizers will be conducting a 3-round rifle volley (a rifle firing blank cartridges into the air 3 times). The Battle Ground Veterans Memorial at Kiwanis Park is located at 422 SW 2nd Avenue. Organizers have invited the public to attend.
