[ARCHIVED] City Seeking Applicants for Parks & Community Engagement Advisory Board

The city of Battle Ground is accepting applications for an open position on its Parks and Community Engagement (PACE) Advisory Board.

Members of the board are volunteers who support city parks and recreation programs by fostering public interest in events and activities, participating in programs, and soliciting participation from community organizations and the general public.

The board also serves in an advisory capacity, making recommendations to the city council regarding the development and operations of public parks, playgrounds and recreational facilities.  An update to the city’s Parks, Recreation and Open Space Plan is scheduled for completion in 2022.  The PACE Board will participate in the project and will help shape a draft plan that will be reviewed by the council.

PACE Board members meet monthly with city staff and participate in Parks & Recreation activities throughout the year.

Dedicated, enthusiastic community members with an interest in strengthening community connections through parks and recreation programming are encouraged to apply.  The position is open to city residents as well as property owners and business owners within the city of Battle Ground’s urban growth boundary.

More information about the PACE Board and an application to serve is available here.
