[ARCHIVED] Battle Ground joins national remembrance of lives lost to COVID-19

The City of Battle Ground will join cities across the nation on Tuesday, January 19th in a national moment of unity to honor and memorialize the lives lost to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“In Clark County, over 150 people – family members, neighbors, and friends – have lost their lives to this pandemic,” said Mayor Adrian Cortes, “It is important we remember and honor their lives and keep their loved ones in our thoughts.”

The city is participating by placing ceremonial white flags, one for each Clark County resident whose life was lost to COVID-19, at Battle Ground City Hall the morning of January 19.  At that evening’s City Council Meeting, scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Mayor Cortes will lead a moment of silence in remembrance of the lives lost and invites the community to join him.

City Council meetings, currently held virtually, are always open to the public.  Information on how to join the January 19 meeting is available on the meeting agenda.
