Survey seeks residents’ input on the future of Fire/EMS services

Fire-EMS Envelope

If you are a city of Battle Ground resident, watch your mailbox this week for an important survey about the future of Fire/EMS (Emergency Medical Services) in the city of Battle Ground.  We are asking your input on the idea of annexing into Fire District 3.

Unlike other Clark County cities, Battle Ground does not have a fire department, nor are we part of a fire district.  The city contracts with Fire District 3 to provide Fire/EMS services within the city.  The current contract expires in 2021 and needs renegotiating starting early next year.

What does it mean to annex into Fire District 3 and why consider annexation?  Learn more about this important topic at the Fire/EMS Annexation Survey website page or refer to our April 2019 Newsletter that was included with your most recent utility bill.   The website page is created to be dynamic, with frequent updates including survey results, FAQ’s from residents like yourself, and next steps.

We are committed to engaging the community to serve you better and incorporate your thoughts and needs into our future planning efforts.   Thank you for participating – please mail your surveys back in the provided post-paid envelope by Friday April 26.  City residents who did not receive a survey in the mail by Saturday, April 13 may request one by contacting us at exec.info@cityofbg.org or by calling 360-342-5004.
