At the city of Battle Ground, our focus is providing sustainable municipal services and utilities to a growing population of residents, businesses, and consumers. We do so, not as an island, but in partnership and in compliance with state and federal laws and mandates.
The 2018 state legislative session began today, January 8. Because decisions in Olympia can and have had a significant effect on how cities provide services, Battle Ground officials engage with state legislators throughout the year and monitor in-session legislative activities.
Last month, the city officials met with and presented the city’s 2018 State Legislative Agenda
to local legislators of the 17th, 18th, and 49th districts. The agenda reflects the city’s legislative priorities, addressing local, regional and statewide issues affecting the city of Battle Ground.
We will continue to work with legislators to promote legislation and a city-state partnership that supports a safe and thriving city. After all, strong cities make a great state!
