[ARCHIVED] Battle Ground Police Department Launches Community Crime Map

The Battle Ground Police Department recognizes that awareness and information sharing is one of the most powerful tools in preventing crime and is committed to communicating and engaging with the citizens it serves.

A new service, Community Crime Map, detailing reported crime activity in the City of Battle Ground is now available online at   The public can view a map and grid containing all reported crimes in a user-specified area, be it an individual neighborhood or the larger community.  Users may register to receive alerts detailing the most recent reported crimes, and may submit anonymous tips about crime directly to the police department.

The service is made possible by a partnership with LexisNexis Risk Solutions.  Community Crime Map automatically syncs with Battle Ground Police Department’s records system to keep reported crime updated online.  Community Crime Map cleans and geocodes the crime data, then displays all of the incidents on a map, grid, and analytics dashboard along with basic information about each incident, including the type of crime, location type, block-level address, date and time.

The department encourages the community to use the Community Crime Map and to always report crimes and any suspected criminal activity.  Persons that witness illegal activity in progress or are a victim of crime should call 9-1-1 as soon as possible.  Anyone who becomes aware of an incident after the fact, when it is no longer an emergency, are asked to call 3-1-1.

It is the mission of the BGPD to provide the highest level of police services while working in partnership with the community to find solutions to crime and quality of life issues.
