The City of Battle Ground is joining Clark County Connects’ annual Day of Service on Saturday, September 10th. We encourage volunteers to join our work party from 9 am to noon at three Battle Ground locations where we will be caring for our public places by cleaning up litter, raking/weeding flower beds, and spreading bark chips (and joy!).
The work party locations are Battle Ground Community Center at 912 E. Main St., City Hall at 109 SW 1st. St., and Kiwanis Park at 422 SW 2nd Ave. While we hope for good weather, we will carry on rain or shine, so participants should dress appropriately for the weather. A limited supply of tools and equipment will be available, but we ask that folks bring their own work gloves, small gardening tools labeled with the owner’s name, and if possible, wheelbarrows. We will provide refreshments.
Individuals, families and groups are welcome and encouraged to participate. A responsible adult must accompany minors and take care to manage younger children appropriately in a work environment. We ask that scout groups, organizations or other groups of 6 or more register in advance by calling Battle Ground Parks & Recreation at 360-342-5380 or by emailing bgparksandrec@cityofbg.org. We will gladly register individuals and families onsite.
We hope you will join us for the Day of Service in Battle Ground; connecting to accomplish goals, big or small, makes for strong community! For questions or more information contact Battle Ground Parks & Recreation at 360-342-5380 or by email at bgparksandrec@cityofbg.org.
