At their May 16th meeting, the Battle Ground City Council recognized 33 young men and women from the community who have committed to serve in the United States Armed Forces. Each enlistee in attendance was introduced and spoke about his or her military assignment, goals, and family members, many of whom who were in attendance.
Mayor Johnson shared a sentiment of many at the event, “As these young people carry out their service, they will know that the Battle Ground community supports and appreciates them.”
City Council’s 4th Annual Military Appreciation Night comes during Military Appreciation Month, designated by Congress to ensure that the nation was given the opportunity to publically demonstrate their appreciation for the sacrifices and successes made by our service members.
