[ARCHIVED] Flood Watch in Effect

A Flood Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service until this afternoon at 2:30pm for Clark County. Additionally, a Flood Watch is in effect until December 9 at 5:00 pm.

We are seeing areas of minor flooding throughout the City of Battle Ground. Public Works crews are out in force working to clear drains and ditches in an attempt to direct run-off to the stormwater system.

Officials have temporarily closed the city’s Skate Park at Fairgrounds Park due to flooding in the bowls.

Please do not rake or sweep leaves into roadways – doing so can clog drains and increase the chance of flooding.

To report flooding in your neighborhood, call the Public Works Department at 360-342-5350 during business hours (7:30 am to 4 pm) or 360-635-7076 after hours. If flooding poses an imminent threat to public safety, call 9-1-1.

As you travel, please remember “Turn Around, Don’t Drown”. It only takes 12 inches of rushing water to carry away a small car. It is never safe to walk or drive into flood waters.

The City of Battle Ground has sand and sandbags available to city residents who may need them. Please call the Public Works Dept. at 360-342-5352 (730 am to 4 pm) or 360-635-7076 (after 4 pm) to arrange pick up.
