Whether you love a bargain or just love the thrill of the search, the 3rd annual Fairgrounds Park Flea Market, to be held Saturday August 22 at Fairgrounds Park in Battle Ground, will offer something for everyone. Shoppers will experience the spirit of a classic drive-in flea market, where unique treasures and everyday basics spill from car trunks and tables.
The flea market is a popular place to both buy and sell items. “People love to garage sale,” said Debbi Hanson, Battle Ground Parks and Recreation Director. “The flea market is like putting a one stop shop in one convenient location, instead of having to drive all over.”
Past flea markets have featured everything from small furniture, to sports equipment, to fishing equipment, said Hanson. There is always a lot of clothing for sale, and vendors have offered hand crafted items as well.
Space is still available for vendors. This traditional drive-in style flea market offers easy set up; vendors can pull their car into their space and start selling. Registration is $20 per vehicle for two spaces, one for a vehicle and an extra space for more “stuff.”
All proceeds from the Fairgrounds Park Flea Market will benefit the Battle Ground Veterans Memorial Fund, which is funding the new Veterans Memorial now under construction in Kiwanis Park. The Memorial will provide the community not only an area for private reflection but a small gathering place for events honoring the fallen as well. The funding of the Veterans Memorial Project is solely dependent upon public donations.
The Fairgrounds Park Flea Market will take place from 9am to 3pm on August 22, behind the Battle Ground Community Center at 912 E. Main Street, Battle Ground.
