We all play a role in keeping our community safe. Awareness and information sharing is one of the most powerful tools in preventing crime.
The Battle Ground Police Department needs to know what is happening in your neighborhoods and in our city. If you’ve been a victim of crime, report it! If you see or have seen any suspicious activity or if you suspect criminal activity has occurred, say something! As the additional “eyes and ears” of law enforcement, citizens can help reduce crime and increase the quality of our neighborhoods by knowing what to report and how to report it.
If you witness illegal activity in progress or are a victim of crime, call 9-1-1 as soon as possible.
You may become aware of an incident after the fact, when it is no longer an emergency. The information, however, is still important and our police department needs and wants to know. There are a few ways you can report non-emergency suspicious or criminal activity.
- Tell us in person at the Battle Ground Police Department during office hours (M – F, 10am – 5 pm). BGPD is located at 507 SW 1st St, just behind the fire station near McDonalds.
- Call the Non-Emergency 3-1-1 line. Provide the dispatcher with the information you have and it will be passed on to a Battle Ground Police Officer.
- Share an anonymous tip online at www.cityofbg.org/tips
Sharing information with law enforcement gives them the tools they need to protect our community. Public safety is everyone’s responsibility. While our officers and dispatchers are on the clock 24/7, we all play an important role in being aware and sharing information.
