It was a night of serious toe-tapping, dancing, and all around fun at the Country Shindig Concert and Dance held on Friday, February 14th at the Battle Ground Community Center. Thanks to the nearly 200 attendees and the generous donations of sponsors, the event raised $3,400 for Battle Ground’s Veteran Memorial Project.
City of Battle Ground organizers thank the Battle Ground Lions Club who served as the presenting sponsor for the event and the many other businesses and individuals whose donations made the event possible.
Kiwanis Park will be the future site of the Veterans Memorial to honor local veterans who have died in service to their country. This place of honor will provide the community an area for private reflection as well as a gathering place for events honoring the fallen.
Funding for the Veterans Memorial project is solely dependent on public donations and contributions of in-kind services and materials.
