- Parks, Recreation, & Open Space Plan
In a 2018 survey and visioning process, the Battle Ground community identified parks, trails, and recreation resources as a priority for the well-being and quality of life for residents.
A process is currently underway to update the city's Parks, Recreation, and Open Space (PROS) Plan. The purpose of the Plan is to identify a vision for Battle Ground parks, open spaces, and trails for the next 20 years, including specific goals and actions for achieving that vision.
The city kicked off the planning process by taking an inventory of existing parks and recreational programs. This process also included a survey to help evaluate the parks and recreational opportunities within the city and surrounding areas. Last October, 592 residents participated in an initial survey about parks and recreational resources in Battle Ground. Nearly every respondent expressed that these resources are essential to quality of life.
After gathering additional information from the community on park improvements and high priority projects, staff and a team of consultants will start writing the city's PROS plan.
The completed PROS Plan will:
