The City is in the process of developing a Land Management and Transportation System Plan update based off the recent Community Vision and Strategic Action Plan adoption. The purpose of updating both plans is to lay the groundwork for what will provide a successful future for development and preservation of Battle Ground, while identifying areas of growth and viable economic development.
The City, along with a team of consultants and stakeholders, comprised of local residents and business owners, have been laying the groundwork to develop an updated Land Use Master Plan. An updated plan is one of several steps to implement Battle Ground’s Community Vision, the result of a 2018 visioning process that involved extensive community engagement. A land use master plan is a detailed plan for the community that addresses land use patterns, how infrastructure is planned to support growth, and how the Community Vision is implemented.
A preferred alternative for the Land Use Master Plan was created based on community feedback. Both maps (see right) blends the best features of the preliminary alternatives to create a path forward for Battle Ground. Staff will hold a series of public hearings to continue to get input from the public, Planning Commission, and City Council.
