Gender Equity Policy

It is the policy of the City of Battle Ground to comply with the State of Washington’s “Fair Play in Community Sports Act” (chapter 467, 2009 Laws, effective date July 26, 2009, ESSB 5967) that prohibits discrimination against any person in a community athletic/sports program on the basis of sex. The City and the Department of Parks and Recreation will permit the use of City facilities by individuals and organizations, in a manner designed to insure that the City’s facilities that support athletic / sports programs, provide equal opportunity, and access for both boys and girls, and men and women.
