Councilmember Adrian Cortes

Adrian Cortes was re-elected to City Council Position No. 4 in November of 2021. He is currently serving his 2nd consecutive term in office.

He served as Mayor from 2020 to 2021.

Mr. Cortes previously served on council for a four-year term from 2012 - 2015. Prior to his service on City Council, Mr. Cortes served as an appointed member of the city’s Planning Commission as Chair.  

In 2014 Councilmember Cortes earned the Association of Washington Cities’ (AWC) Certificate of Municipal Leadership and in 2015 earned the Advanced Certificate of Municipal Leadership.

Mr. Cortes currently works for the Camas School District as an educator.  He teaches special education and is a Department Head for Special Programs at Camas High School.  He is also an Associate Professor for City University of Seattle (Vancouver campus).
