Welcome to the Stormwater Division of the Public Works Department. Our mission is to ensure the public's health and safety and to protect the environment by establishing and enforcing standards for stormwater drainage and environmental protection.

Stormwater Education
The City works with the Battle Ground School District and the Vancouver Water Resources Center to provide educational opportunities to local students. The city also provides educational information at City Hall and online. Runoff from surfaces such as street, driveways, parking lots, and lawns is the largest source of water pollution we face today. Illicit Discharge
Illicit discharges are discharges to the Storm Sewer that contain materials other than stormwater, including antifreeze, oils and other substances. Please call the Illicit Discharge Hotline at (360) 342-5070 to report any illicit discharges, spills or contaminated stormwater runoff you come across.

2020 Stormwater Management Program Plan
The City of Battle Ground Stormwater Management Program protects our local streams and rivers by ensuring the City complies with the Clean Water Act. The program includes public education and involvement, illicit discharge removal, runoff control, and maintenance of the City's Storm Sewer.

Stormwater Maintenance Manual
Requirements from the Washington State Department of Ecology and the Clean Water Act require the city to comply with rules to protect our water resources by ensuring that storm drainage facilities are properly operated and maintained. This manual describes the steps taken to assure that city storm facilities meet water quality requirements.
