The department is responsible for the maintenance of over 70 miles of paved streets ranging in age from one to two years to many decades old. Just like a car or a home, the usable life of a paved street is dependent on how it was constructed, how much it is used, its exposure to the elements, and preventive maintenance.
Sidewalk Maintenance and Repair
Sidewalk maintenance and repair is outlined in state law which provides that the adjacent property owner is responsible for the upkeep and reconstruction.  For additional information, please refer to Revised Code of Washington Chapter 35.68 and 35.69 and the city's Sidewalk Maintenance and Repair Program.

The Operations Division provides for the delivery of safe, high quality water through service, construction and maintenance of the City's water system.
The Operations Division provides for safe and clean collection and disposal of sewage through service, construction and maintenance of the City's sewer system.

The Operations Division provides maintenance services for all City facilities and maintains and repairs all City-owned vehicles and rolling stock.
