The Public Works Engineering Division provides technical support to all City Departments including preliminary engineering, design engineering, construction inspection and construction management services for capital improvements program. The Engineering Division also provides engineering review and inspection for new development.

Capital Projects
A Capital Project is a new construction or renovation project that provides a public service, whether it is drainage, water, sewer, transportation, recreation, or economic development.

Sewer System
The City’s sewer system consists of a network of gravity sewers along with 11 pump stations. The large scale repairs and long range plan for the sewer system is primarily overseen by the Engineering staff where the routine maintenance and upkeep is centered on the Operation staff.

Standard Details & Construction Requirements
Standard details are drawings of the City’s existing water, sanitary sewer, and stormwater systems. The City’s construction requirements are intended to be helpful during the initial stages of the design of public infrastructure such as water, sanitary sewer, stormwater, and transportation systems.

Stormwater Management Program
The City’s Stormwater Management Program is geared towards protecting our local streams and rivers by ensuring the City complies with the Clean Water Act.

Transportation System
The Engineering Division is responsible for the design and development of the City’s transportation plan and works with the Operations Division to maintain the existing roadways.

Water System
The City’s water system maintenance is a collaborative effort between Public Works' Engineering and Operations Divisions. The large scale repairs and long range plan for the water system is primarily overseen by the Engineering staff where the routine maintenance and upkeep is the responsibility of the Operation staff.

Statement of Qualifications Questionnaire
The City is interested in receiving a Statement of Qualifications from qualified individuals or firms for the provision of professional architectural, surveying, engineer and/or personal services for projects that may occur during the July 2016/2017 calendar year.
