Park Rules
Rules Required by City Ordinance
For the safety and enjoyment of all people who visit and use our City parks we ask that you abide by the following park rules as required by City Ordinance. A complete listing of all park rules is outlined in the City Municipal Code. Violations are civil infractions that can result in immediate citation and/or removal from the park. Failure to comply can result in criminal trespass charges. View all park rules.

General Park Hours
  • All parks open dawn to dusk.

Skate & Bike Park Hours
Skate Park is open on a seasonal schedule:
  • March 1 – Oct 31: Dawn to 10pm 
  • November 1 – February 28: Dawn to Dusk

Dogs are required to be on a leash and under your control at all times. You are also required to scoop up after them and properly dispose of it.

Keep Nature Natural
Please don’t harm or feed the wildlife or cut or remove plant life.

Alcoholic beverages of any kind are not allowed in the park.

The use or lighting of fireworks is illegal in parks.
Barbecues & Fires
Fires are prohibited except in picnic stoves or in portable barbecues. Portable units may only utilize propane or charcoal briquettes as fuel; all other fuel sources, including wood are prohibited. Briquettes must be completely extinguished and properly disposed of or removed from the park..

Smoking & Tobacco Use
Smoking is not allowed in parks except in designated areas as posted.

Distribution of Food, Beverages and Goods
Selling or giving away promotional items including food, beverages and/or goods is not allowed without prior approval from the Parks and Recreation Department. Refer to the Special Event Permits section for details.  

Please park in designated areas. Overnight parking is not allowed in city park parking lots and is prohibited between the hours of 12:00 am and 5:00 am (exception: unless authorized by a special use permit).

Permits Are Required
All special events, private parties/picnics, sporting programs, commercial sales and product distribution / promotion require a permit. Nothing can be sold, given away or an admission charged without a permit. If you are bringing a sound amplifying device, stage or plan to run an organized activity, you must have a permit. The permit must be presented when requested. Permits supersede “first come” claims to using park amenities.
