Public Defenders
A public defender is a criminal defense attorney appointed to represent an individual charged with a crime who cannot afford to hire an attorney.

The Battle Ground Municipal Court provides public defenders to those who qualify. You will be asked if you are in need of a public defender, and if so, you are required to fill out the Indigent Defense Form. At your court date, the court will make a determination with regards to whether or not you will be assigned a public defender.
