Project Overview:

The City plans to invest in a complete renaissance of Fairgrounds Park. The first phase, which will be under construction in the first part of August, will include the following amenities:
  • 25,000 square foot Skate park
  • New restrooms
  • Parking and support amenities, such as benches, trash receptacles, etc.
  • Streetscape improvements to Main Street and Fairgrounds Avenue
  • Safety and pathway lighting
This first phase will require removal of the old restrooms, the building known as the Lions Den, and rearrangement one of the three pee-wee baseball fields in the south-central part of the park.

Phase II of Fairgrounds, which will not be under construction until the Battle Ground Sports Complex is built, and may include a number of other improvements:
  • Rock climbing/bouldering field
  • Interactive water fountain/people plaza
  • A flexible multi-use community building
  • A new playground structure
  • A Small outdoor performance venue
  • Internal trail system and connection to the regional trail network
City Council awarded a pre-design contract to Walker Macy on Monday, July 17th. This pre-design work will include opportunities for stakeholder feedback at dates and times yet to be determined.
