Goals & Accomplishments
- Began fingerprinting in court for domestic violence and driving under the influence for cases where defendants are not booked into the Clark County Jail
- New Judge competed first full year on the bench
- Added a new firm as conflict indigent defense counsel
- Continued discussion and development of video arraignment
- Update no contact orders per requirements of new legislation in 2005
- Continue to maintain and purge files consistent with state law requirements
- Continue to contract with the City of Wapato to house prisoners that have sentences exceeding 30 days as accost saving measure.
- Continue to provide service to Ridgefield and La Center while at the same time monitoring legislation and court cases involving contracting for municipal court services.
- Explore sentencing alternatives with Judge to help reduce jail coasts
- Council decided not to contract court services with District Court.
- Review contracts with existing Indigent Defense and Prosecution Services
- Continue to work on month end reports for greater accuracy.
