Community Development: Planning
Goals & Accomplishments
- Implement a progressive, innovative, responsive and fully integrated long-range planning and development services program based on realizing the Community Vision and Comprehensive Plan.
- Oversaw permitting and inspection of approximately 275,000 square feet of new commercial development; oversaw finalization and projected occupancy of approximately 75 new single-family dwelling units and 70 multi-family dwelling units.
- Processed 7 preliminary plats with 259 proposed lots.
- Processed 2 Final Plats, creating 93 residential lots.
- Applied for and were awarded CDBG grants funds for SW 4th Street Improvements.
- Settled the outstanding Growth Management Hearings Board appeal of the Critical Areas Ordinance.
- Continued to strive to provide the highest quality in customer service and permit turnaround time.
- Continued zoning enforcement and code enforcement activities.
- Collaborated with Clark County Long Range Planning and the Board of County Commissioners on updating the Urban Growth Boundary.
- Completed the district planning process for Central Main Street.
- Completed the Eastside annexation.
- Initiated the South 503 annexation.
- Staffed the proposed annexation of the Blonski property.
